Tesco in China?! Hopefully, the Chinese will have the sense of the Japanese and get rid of Tesco.
Waiting for coach to arrive in a little town somewhere in the Mongolian mountains, beside China. Clouds drown out the sun in this part of the land. Colourful town in permanent valley fog. While I wait, some locals cycle by. Must have taken her ages to grown that hair.
In the absolute serenity of this little village on the outskirts of Sainshand, Mongolia…an inquisitive man hear’s my camera clicking away. He comes out to greet me. I apologise for disturbing his meal. He shares his food with me despite my committed refusal. Lovely guy.

Bitterly cold at night, hot and dry during the day. Clear sky always. Erenhot, on the border of Mongolia and China, was a diverse place. Highly commercialised but also uniquely homely and localised.
Interesting performance piece that has appeared on various Eastern European talent shows. Performer Atai Omurzakov from Kirghizia, Kyrgyzstan does a fusion dance / movement piece….although doesn’t his head look a little big at times? Better than Wall-e in any case…
Moving onto something even better though…Taichi Saotome performs in this fascinating sword dance piece using shadowgraph technology…

I took a few pictures of shoppers as they came up the escalators which bridges the enormous malls to the food district somewhere in north-east China. Even being there just a few moments, I observed the vast economic, ethnic and generational diversities of the Chinese people in this region.
